Paul Weston began his architectural career in 1973 at Manchester University and joined The Charter Partnership in 1978, qualifying as an Architect in 1979. He became a Director and then Chairman for two periods as the company grew to become a major regional practice.
The company was sold to The SMC Group (later rebranded as Archial) in 2006 where Paul led its specialist sports and leisure group. In 2011 Paul left Archial to become a Consultant and established Paul Weston Architect Ltd.
Paul’s main area of specialism is in the Sport and Leisure sector, both private and public funded. Over 26 years he has developed considerable experience of swimming pool and leisure centre design, principally in the public sector, allied to a clear understanding of operational issues.
His expertise is in working closely with clients to guide and advise them through the business case, feasibility, design and building procurement processes. On all projects he communicates his strong beliefs in motivation and collaborative working to members of the design and construction teams, thus achieving his ultimate goals of design quality and client satisfaction.
Paul is also a member of the Shape East Design Review Panel for the Eastern Region which is linked to The Design Council and CABE.
