About Paul.

Paul Weston provides innovative, practical and clear design solutions to complex problems. His extensive experience and communication skills will help to guide you through the early project stages and the planning process.

Background

Paul Weston began his architectural career in 1973 at Manchester University and joined The Charter Partnership in 1978, qualifying as an Architect in 1979. He became a Director and then Chairman for two periods as the company grew to become a major regional practice.

The company was sold to The SMC Group (later rebranded as Archial) in 2006 where Paul led its specialist sports and leisure group. In 2011 Paul left Archial to become a Consultant and established Paul Weston Architect Ltd. He continues to work with Archial (now NORR) as Consultant on occasional specific projects.

Specialisms

Paul’s main area of specialism is in the Sport and Leisure sector, both private and public funded. Over 35 years he has developed considerable experience of swimming pool and leisure centre design, principally in the public sector, allied to a clear understanding of operational issues.

His expertise is in working closely with clients to guide and advise them through the business case, feasibility, design and building procurement processes. On all projects he communicates his strong beliefs in motivation and collaborative working to members of the design and construction teams, thus achieving his ultimate goals of design quality and client satisfaction.

Community support

Paul has established the Paul Weston Architecture Scholarship Award at Manchester University through the Manchester Access Programme (MAP). He currently supports three students as they progress towards their first degree.

Paul is also a member of Suffolk ProHelp – an organisation which provides pro bono professional and strategic consultancy services to voluntary organisations.
